story...........................................................................
Opening night turns into a nightmare for an anxious understudy performing in a local production of A Chorus Line.
production.................................................................
Originally presented as an English project, this short film by Ryder Houston has evolved into a dramatic story of star-crossed lovers full of teenage angst. After starting production on top an empty parking garage, where the film orginally took place, it soon became clear that the script required much more than 3 hours of shooting to complete. The urban setting was switched to Juliet's backyard, a place that could be controlled. With only Ashley Crowder as Juliet, and Ryder Houston as Romeo working on the nighttime scenes from 8PM to 3AM, the shoot took 7 hours to finish. In the following days, all of the driving scenes and death montage shots were completed. During the start of post-production, it was discovered the microphone borrowed for the shoot was very low-quality, so every single sound from crickets chirping, to cars driving, to actors' dialogue was looped in after the fact. All the hard work combined created a dark and ironic tale of young love that is sure to please many.
